How to Participate
Throughout the year a variety of promotions will be held encouraging consumers to visit local businesses both online and in-store and see what they have to offer. Rules and regulations including how to enter, contest periods, winner selection and prizes for each promotion can be found on the promotions individual page or below.
Rules and Regulations
1. Eligibility
The Think Local, Shop Stettler promotions are open to anyone who makes a purchase at a participating business unless otherwise stated. Employees of the Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development and their immediate family members with whom they are domiciled are not eligible. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED BY LAW.
2. Participation
By participating in any or all promotions offered, consumers agree that personal information including names, comments, photo's and other unique identifiers (ie: comments, testimonials, tags, etc.) provided by the consumer in order to participate may be used for promotional purposes at the discretion of the Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development. Addresses, phone numbers, emails, and all other personal contact information will not be publicized. All personal information will be collected in strict safety protocols and shall never be shared or sold.
3. Winners
All winners will be notified by phone number provided on entry form. Winners agree to have name and picture used in promotions including but not limited to the Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development website and social media. All personal information will be collected in strict confidential protocols and shall never be shared or sold.
4. Prizes
Prizes for all promotions will be provided as offered and will not be eligible for cash exchange. All prizes will be available for pick up at the Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development office (6606 - 50 Avenue, Stettler, AB). All Heart of Alberta Dollars awarded from Think Local, Shop Stettler will be eligible for use at Think Local, Shop Stettler participating businesses only. 5. General
Consumers agree to abide by the terms of these General Rules and Regulations and by the decisions of the judging panel, which are final on all matters pertaining to the Promotions. These promotions are governed by the laws of Canada. All federal and local laws and regulations apply. All taxes, fees, and surcharges on prizes are the sole responsibility of the prize winner. Return of any prize/prize notification as undeliverable may result in disqualification and selection of an alternate winner. By entering, participants release and hold harmless the Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development, the Town of Stettler, the participating businesses, sponsors, and all respective partners, executive, directors, officers, and employees (further known as "Promotion Entities") from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the promotions, or the use or acceptance of any prize won. Restrictions, conditions, and limitations apply.
BY ENTERING THESE PROMOTIONS, ENTRANTS AGREE TO BE BOUND BY THESE GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS. The rules will be posted at all times at www.shopstettler.ca. Entrants further agree to be bound by the decisions of the judging panel, which shall be final and binding in all respects.
UNLESS OTHERWISE SPECIFIED, USERS CAN ENTER AN UNLIMITED AMOUNT OF ENTRIES. ABUSERS OF THE ENTRY POLICY WILL BE DISQUALIFIED OR RESTRICTED AT CONTEST SPONSOR’S DISCRETION.
Limitations of Liability
If, for any reason, a Promotion is not capable of running as planned, the Stettler Regional Board of Trade and Community Development reserves the right at its sole discretion to cancel, terminate, modify, or suspend the promotion. Except as expressly warranted herein, the Prizes are provided to winners as is without further warranty of any kind.
IN NO EVENT SHALL PROMOTION ENTITIES BE RESPONSIBLE HEREUNDER FOR ANY INCIDENTAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, SPECIAL, OR INDIRECT DAMAGES, EVEN IF PROMOTION ENTITIES HAVE BEEN ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
Cash Cards
By visiting participating businesses throughout the promotion consumers will be eligible to receive one entry slip for each purchase. Additional entry slips will be available for each increment of $100 spent. (ie: if total spend is $237.50, purchaser will receive 3 entry slips). Drop off completed entries in the drop boxes provided at participating businesses. Entries are eligible for all draws throughout the promotion.
Regular draws will be completed as scheduled beginning the same day as Moonlight Madness event with an increase in prize values leading to a final grand prize to be drawn the last Friday prior to December 24th. Pick up of completed entries will take place on the Thursday prior to draw dates. Draw schedule can be found on the Cash Card page.
Prizes are awarded in Heart of Alberta Dollars or a combination of Heart of Alberta Dollars and prizes from participating businesses. Heart of Alberta Dollars may be used at Think Local, Shop Stettler participating business locations only.
Think Local, Shop Stettler Balloon Drop
Consumers gathered for the lighting of the Main Street Tree or shopping at participating retailers during Moonlight Madness have the opportunity to be chosen at random by volunteers to participate in the Think Local, Shop Stettler Balloon Drop. Participation is optional and a waiver is required prior to entry into the balloon drop venue. Youth between the ages of 12 – 17 require adult supervision while in the Balloon Drop. Youth under the age of 12 are not permitted to participate due to safety concerns. Balloon Drop participants will have the opportunity to grab and pop as many balloons as possible until the discounts and instant win prizes have all been claimed.
Instant WIN prizes can be claimed from the Stettler Board of Trade staff and volunteers manning the Balloon Drop registration. ALL discounts and offers have an expiry date. It is the responsibility of the participant to be aware of these dates.
No smoking, prohibited drugs, cannabis or alcoholic beverages are allowed in the Think Local, Shop Stettler Balloon Drop promotion. No amount of cannabis, alcohol and/or prohibited drugs may be consumed prior to entering the Balloon Drop. Participants whom officials believe have consumed cannabis, alcohol or prohibited drugs prior to entry will be disqualified.
