Bridge Construction Highway 590 (Big Valley)


Alberta Transportation will be completing a Bridge Stripdeck and Subdeck replacement as well as other work 18 km West of Big Valley on the McKenzie Crossing Bridge. The bridge will be closed to public traffic and traffic will be accomodated using a detour south on Highway 585 and to the Norht on Highway 21. Work will begin February 2, 2015 and is expected to be completed February 22, 2015. Please be patient as work is completed and obey all traffic signs and detour routes.

Hwy 56 Detours- Underground Utility Replacements Phase 2


Please note phase 2 of underground utility replacements will continue in Highway 56 in town as shown on the map. The detour will be set up as shown and construction is expected to last three weeks. Large truck traffic will be detoured around the site via 46 Street/Highway 12. Drivers are reminded to slow down and obey all signs. The public’s patience and cooperation is greatly appreciated while the work is taking place.
