Discover your wild side…

The Canadian Badlands Pheasant Festival Stettler is a
4 day festival featuring ½ day pheasant hunts with interactive sessions for people of all ages and backgrounds to enjoy.

Private lands with same day pheasant releases make this not for profit festival extraordinary. With a Friday evening banquet, dog training classes, a culinary event, beginner hunt sessions and more planned, this year is promising to be even bigger and better.

Each ½ day hunt includes the release of 8 pheasants with more available for purchase. Teams of up to 4 members and their dogs will enjoy the knob and kettle scenery that Stettler and the County offer while partaking in a favorite pastime.

With conservation of the Chinese Ring-necked Pheasants as the main goal, this event has successfully released over 300 hens to date and chicks have been successfully hatched in the area.

General Information

The festival runs from October 13 to the 16th, 2016.

Starting Thursday afternoon, each day has two hunts - one in the morning that runs from 8:30am to 12pm and a second hunt that runs from 1:30pm to 5pm. You may purchase two consecutive hunts and hunt all day if you choose as well.

Each half day hunt is $200. This is a not for profit event with conservation being key.  The fee is to pay for the pheasants.  All other funds go back into future festivals and conservation of Pheasants in the County of Stettler. 2014 profits released 300 hens and roughly 250 roosters into the County of Stettler.

Hunts are for up to 4 team members and provide you privatized sites with 8 pheasants released just prior to your hunt time.

Extra birds can be purchased in multiples of 8 for $200/ 8.

The banquet will be held Friday evening, October 14th. Tickets will be available on the registration site.

Other opportunities such as a culinary event, dog training clinics, and more will be offered during the festival.
